Follow Up Lactation Consultation

$0.00

( 60 minutes)

What your lactation consultant will do during your visit:

  • Review your prenatal and medical history to discuss any changes.

  • Obtain an updated medical history for infant.

  • Discuss medications you are taking, including prescriptions, over-the-counter medications and herbal supplements and vitamins.

  • Discuss your feeding plan.

  • Do a head-to-toe assessment on your infant.  She will take a temperature, heart rate and respiratory rate and weight (pre-breastfeeding).

  • Do a full examination of your breasts and nipples to assess for any changes since the last visit.

  • Observe a breastfeeding session if you desire.  During this time, she will assess the latch, position, and hold of your baby while breastfeeding and provide guidance as needed.

  • Do a post breastfeeding weight if you breastfeed during the consult.

  • Provide invaluable information that will help you along your breastfeeding/lactation journey.

  • She will answer any questions you may have about breastfeeding, lactation and newborn care
